Designer: Signed © HOBE. Hobe has been in business since the late 1800s, rich in jewelry history and it seems to be a family tradition. The jewelry items they created in the early years were of museum quality even though they were Costume jewelry. They were considered good enough for queens. Hobe quit manufacturing jewelry sometime in 1992.

When less is indeed more is so true in this case. This signed Hobe beautiful vintage necklace has a simple streamlined elegant design. The gold band shimmers and feels like real gold. The three genuine lustrous cultured pearls make the gold looks even more believable. Its materials and craftsmanship surely showcase the high quality of the famed Hobe is known for. This ornate center piece (1 3/4" x 1 1/2") has an articulated golden filigree scalloped base where a luxuriously smooth shiny large round flat pearl is prominently set. The large pearl is surrounded by pastel pink pronged glitzy rhinestones and has the embellishment of gilt leaves and pearl rosettes layering. Though not signed, this beautiful vintage necklace is obviously of high quality. It is hefty, substantial and extremely well made. The diamond shaped clear crystals are brilliant with the largest crystals measuring 1/2" each! Also love the ornate very Haskell-like gilt brass shimmering filigree balls. The exquisite 2" sumptuous tassel hangs a filigree gilt brass domed cap from which long antique brass tubes and more brilliant crystals and glittering filigree balls are hung!
