Designer: Signed Hattie Carnegie. The Hattie Carnegie Company operated between 1917 and 1970. Carnegie began designing jewelry to complement her dress designs which attracted the rich and famous. Her designs did not follow the trend of the time to simulate real jewels but instead showed tremendous originality.

Three luxurious graduated strands of lustrous nephrite jade beads, gold plated textured beads and individually prong set rhinestone rondells fashioned a classy, timeless elegance. The smooth, glossy nephrite jade beads, brush gold-plated beads and glitzy rhinestone rondells add contrasting texture and color and exude an air of rich Oriental imperialistic flair. The strands are sturdily strung and lay beautifully around the base of the neck. This beautiful Oriental pendant necklace is light weight. It is made of plastic mimicking the appearance of jade. The necklace itself are links of a Chinese vase design molded with an Oriental bamboo leaf motif. The large round shouldered pendant (2 5/8" x 3 1/4") is beautifully hollowed out into an exotic Oriental motif adorned by a goldtone chain design frame. Oh my oh my... I just can't say enough about this exquisite, unique Oriental necklace. It is simply magnificent! The 6" length pendant just goes on and on with lots of cool surprises. The pendant starts off with a Chinese pagoda deeply carved from a triangulated Oriental frame adorned by circles on each side. A Chinese lady statuette in traditional dress posing amidst engraved articulating blossoms and leaves in her circular garden. That's not all! This all-important lady's circular garden is adorned by 5 hanging charms - the profile of a wise man, a lady-in-waiting, another pagoda (this must be her second home!), a dragon with a golden ball in its mouth and the profile of a Chinese man. The carving is so detailed that you can see the design of the lady's sleeves and the folds of her skirt. This distinctive necklace is also decorated by six jade-like beads to add color and flair to this already beautiful necklace. The largest charm measures 1 3/8".
