Much love and labor was put into creating these gorgeous earrings. Every inch of these beautiful Dangle Drop Earrings is done by hand. The glossy woven white glass beads are giving a lot of rugged texture and thickness to the piece. Wear these against slightly tanned skins, so sensuous and flirtatious. The dome-style ear piece is 1" in diameter. The large alluring round dangle measures 1 3/4" in diameter and is 3/8" thick. Are these absolutely gorgeous? The large emerald cut and teardrop stones each measure 1" x 3/4". The faceted round stones are 3/8" in diameter. The acrylic stones look and sparkle very much like glass stones. I have to use a 10X loupe to tell the difference. Because the stones are acrylic, these earrings are light weight and comfortable. Huge baroque faux pearl, faceted sparkling round rhinestone and barrel-shape molded art glass glittering with rainbow colors. All these gorgeous gems surrounded by smaller baroque faux pearls are wired down onto two layers of filigree base. Item #E168139 - Hobe Clear Crystal Rhinestone Vintage Silver Tone Clip On Dangle Drop Earrings.

Era: Circa 45.
Condition: Good to excellent condition.
Flaw: A few darkening round stones.

Designer: Signed Hobe. Hobe has been in business since the late 1800s, rich in jewelry history and it seems to be a family tradition. The jewelry items they created in the early years were of museum quality even though they were Costume jewelry. They were considered good enough for queens. Hobe quit manufacturing jewelry sometime in 1992.

Superb Hobe earrings of one-of-a-kind design! The ear piece is a pear design encrusted with clear glitzy rhinestones. The middle part is a round stone and two marquise cut stones. Hanging from it is a large rhinestoned dome style teardrop! The only regret is that a few round stones have darkened. This flaw has been discounted into the price. The dangling piece of the earring is a chinese character which means "longevity". It is done in a goldtone florentine finish and the character is slightly domed to give it texture and dimension.
