Teardrop stones are expensive cut stones and are sometimes referred to as tears of the Goddess. I wonderful why she cries over such a beautiful stone? This beautiful teardrop vintage antique bridal matching set features exquisite brilliant paste! These paste stones are Czechoslovakian brilliant cut lead crystals to emulate diamonds. They do sparkles like diamonds! The splendid chandelier earrings are wingbacks. To those who are not familar with wingback earrings, they were invented in the 1940's and the trademark was used by Wingback Company of New York. At the time, it was an innovative way of wearing earrings until the 1950's. Wingback earrings are extremely rare and a challenge to find. Due to the scarcity, they are very collectible and much sought after by jewelry collectors. The utility Patent Number of these chandelier earrings dates this beautiful vintage set to 1947. The chandelier peacock motif is done in three tiers of graduated teardrops, each tier is slightly layering over the other creating depth and yet it sways independently to refract light. The exquisite necklace and bracelet have a center row of glistening round paste with dazzling teardrops accompanying each side. The stones are prong set in rivet constructed links of a rhodium finish to copy fine jewelry. Expensive cutting of paste stones, profuse diamond sparkles, simple yet rich and elegant design, solid construction, believability to fine jewelry and high collectibility, all these elements are rarely ensembled in one suite making this exceptional beauty truly special and collectible. This exquisite vintage bridal jewelry set is not only to show off one's wealth as it looks like the real thing, it is also a piece of jewelry history to treasure and preserve for generations to enjoy and reminisce.
